Hello, I have a 91 lt250r motor with a fresh top end, I got it bored to 67.5mm and it melted the piston, I got the aluminum out of the cylinder with muriatic acid, honed it, and installed a new piston and ring kit. I tested the compression and it was 115 psi, so I did a leakdown test, there was air coming through the carb only. This tells me there is air getting through the rings. I spent a lot of money on the piston, is there any way I can get oversized rings for a honed engine, or will I need to get it bored again? The engine runs fine, but don’t want to risk blowing it up.
