2007 model. When the bike is not running there is fuel dripping out the overflow hole at the bottom of the carb. Petcock only has on and res and prime, so no off position. It keeps on dripping (every few seconds) until tank empty. Would the problem be the petcock or is it the vacuum. I would think that if the vacuum was the problem that the fuel would simply not run. Bike runs fine. Any advice would be appreciated. I do not know the workings of the vacuum system of the carb.

2 things cause this: a float needle seat in the carb that is dry rotted or a bad diaphragm in the petcock. Since your problem isn’t just the carb bowl leaking til empty and it drains the entire tank, it would be the petcock. Most of us junk the factory petcock for a Yamaha Raptor660 petcock. It has on/off/reserve and you just plug the vacuum port on the carb so it will run right and not draw dirt into the carb. Avoid the Chinese EBay knockoffs and get an actual Yamaha part, there is a difference. Costs maybe $35.
