hey guys i have a 04 ltz400 i just bought back from a friend he had a srp rev box and one day when we were riding it just stopped wanting to run so he decided to get rid of it i pick it up thinking it was the coil but i got a coil from another member on here and still no spark why is that i put the stock cdi back in and got a new plug still nothing PLEASE HELP

Get a good quality multi meter and a service manual.
There are 3 main components... Stator, cdi box, and coil.
You have changed everything but the stator, so I suggest checking that next.
You can also run into the other things like a damaged wire or a bad ign or kill switch. These are not as common, but do happen.

the stator is located on the left hand side of the engine.

If th pulser coil, or pickup coil, in the stator is bad, then yes. That's what tells your CDI to fire the ignition coil.
