Ok so I’ve cleaned the carb, replaced float needle because the old one was bad still nothing, adjusted fuel screw and idle screw still nothing. Brand new spark plug brand new air filter. Cleaned out gas tank and replaced old vacuum petcock with a raptor 660 one still nothing. I am stumped the quad just cuts out or bogs really bad above 1/4 throttle it sounds like rev limiter but I’m not sure

It runs fine in neutral but in gear past 1/4 throttle it starts cutting out and backfiring

What do you have done to it modification wise? Whats the jetting at in the carb? Does it do it in reverse as well?

It has a Uni air filter air box lid off, yoshi pipe with Dyno jet kit. Ran amazing for years with those jets. Just started doing this weird thing

Reverse has a rev limiter so it doesn’t even get high enough revs for it to do it in reverse

Carb side --- stock carb or FCR? if FCR, there's a mid-body gasket that can go bad and block the fuel circuits in the low-mid. bit of a pain to tear down and replace. If it's stock, sounds like junk in the fuel system somewhere or a tear or leak in the diaphragm.

Could be ignition. bad coil, cdi or wiring connection.

It was corrosion on the ignition coil haha. If anybody has this problem check that

I had to plug my vacuum line with a bolt after the petcock swap
