I bought a used 05 swing arm on ebay to mod and extend for my 06. Im getting new sprockets, chain, brake line, and brake block off plate. Is there anything else I should replace while the rear end is torn apart. Like any bearings, bushings, or? ????

I would replace the bearings while your back there.

Are you going to be cutting and welding?

Replace the axle bearings? Is there pivot bearings if that's what they are called or are they bushings?

I'm not doing the work. My buddy is a master fabricator so he's taking on the job. He always takes on my metal working jobs and I'll do the electrical work.

Theres axle bearings and i believe you have both bushings and bearings in the pivot points of the swing arm.

I was just going to suggest you put a piece of square stock, slid inside each end of the swing arm and weld each end to it to give better strength.

Ok I'll look to find and order those parts.

He said he was doing that then wrapping the inserts with sheet and punching the sheets to spot weld. This thing will be built heavy duty. I can't wait.
