Hello guys,
I’m about to rebuild my Ltz 400 2008.
I already have the Athena 440 big bore kit and hot rods crankshaft assy.
Should I upgrade the valves and springs as well?
My other mods are fcr39 carb and ct racing full exhaust.

I would. Cams and a high-rev CDI wouldn’t hurt either, if you’re rich!

I wish I could!
As I can't do everything since I'm changing all the internals of the bottom end I just wanted to know in terms of reliability if the stock valves would do the job or not?

Ferrea Valves and DRZe springs would be great upgrade. Stock valves aren't the greatest at higher rpms and higher compression.

Stock valves are known to cup, as in the edges bend toward the piston and valve clearance drops to zero. If you keep trying to shim them, there have been problems of the heads snapping off and grenading engines.
If you still have clearance with smaller shims in there, you’ll be ok for now. You can always upgrade later when clearance starts to fail.

I already ordered ferrea valves but I can’t find springs for now!
The choice here in Greece is limited and they only stock valves!
Is there any huge difference on DRZe springs comparing to the LTZ stock?

I prefer prevent than cure so I ordered ferrea valves. I’m trying to find springs in Greece or Europe because from US it will take quite a while especially now!

Yea there is a big difference in the springs. The stock ltz springs are a single spring per valve. The DRZe springs use 2 springs per valve making it able to withstand higher rpms and more aggressive cams.

Here's a link to some springs. Where I ordered mine from.

Kibblewhite also makes the dual-spring kit for the Z. They may be easier to get and work great.

I see!
I will definitely need one set of DRZe springs, I hope I will get then quickly!
Thanks!

They ship pretty quickly. If your over in Greece though it may take longer. But I order alot of stuff from those guys and I've always had great service.

I actually find a store in Greece that can get them in one week time!
So let’s hope they will be here on time!
