great intake, I ran one on my z400 for about 6 years without an issue. I'm gonna be putting one on my 450 now soon.


Water and a soft brush should get the oil off, I didn't run mine with oil. I had the outerwear cover for it instead.

 

I just bought my first LTZ 400 2007. It has this airfilter installed. Is this a good airfilter? Also, I can`t seem to get rid of the filteroil no matter what I clean it with. Any suggestions?

Cleaning & Oiling | Uni Filter

 

Its a good filter. Ive had mine for a year now and i would buy another one in a heartbeat. They come with a red foam outerwear but some people use them and some dont. I wash mine in dish soap then re-oil.

 

I didn't run mine with oil.

The oil is what the fine dirt clings to, so it doesn't go in the motor.

 

I also got a red prefilter that I have installed (I also use the stock lid) Will this restrick the airflow too much? Everything else on the bike is stock.......

 

If you want more air flow with your stock lid on Uni makes small filters you can put in the side of your air box to create more air flow.
You simple drill (6) one inch holes in the side of your air box and snap them in.
With these you can have more air flow without sacrificing the protection of your air box lid.

You will probably have to go up on the main jet a little if you modify or take the airbox lid off. The red prefilter in my opinion isnt restrictive enough to worry about. You can almost see through it but it will make cleaning the yellow foam a little easier I have noticed.
