So I traded my ole quadrunner 250 for a fairly crappy lt 250r. I've got some aftermarket racing plastics coming next week so for now ima sand it down and repaint and clean. I've spent 4+hrs just sanding the frame, and tommrow i will paint it.:D Now i need some ideas of dyi's and stuff.

ima just port the head and clean the motor real good and put a new piston in. but i gotta get new axle bearings cause these ones are shot, and i spent bout 2 hrs cleaning that 26 years of dirt and grease, but i got all that painted and the frame painted to.

for paint i used some krylon paint cause i like the spray tip, but the most important is the rust-oleum clear cloat enamel, that paint will last a while about as good as powdercoat if you do it all right.

Well wobamf i was probably gonna just put some yamaha blaster shocks cause ive heard they're about the same i know for sure i cant afford works or elka shocks, lol, im only 16 with no job so this whole build is on a tight money budget.

my new piston came in today and it fit perfect, so i got all new cylinder bolts for it and replaced all the crappy phillips head screw with allen head bolts. the motor has some dam good compression no, as far as putting it together, i got the axel and all mounted up and i wanna go over the frame with some more clear coat before i put it together. also gotta get a seat cover, chain rollers&slider, nerfbars and a new chain and sprocket kit.

i thought ltr shocks were to long? cause my shocks right now are only like 12-14ins, i cant remember at this exact moment.

Well the stock shocks are 13" and I really only ride up and down the road and trails so ima keep looking and trying to find some good shocks. but i got the motor all mounted and the singer up and radiator and electronics

haha the motor looks likes a little 80 in the pic, but it sure is as heavy as a 250, and for the radiator ima have the z400 plastics lifted at an angle in the front so that it kinda scoops the air, but yeah those are aftermarket z400 plastics i payed $115, they were a great deal.

okay well this is really buggin me, my front sprocket needs replaced so im replacing the rear and chain with it.. but what gearing should i run with my 18" razrs???

Discussion starter · #43 ·
alright thanks, i didnt have much time today to work on it but thursday i should get the a arms on and front plastic mounted right and start looking into making some scoops :D

I'll buy some front tires if i can find a good deal since money is tight, but today i got rear hubs painted and the axle cleaned up(no pic yet because it was dark when i got down)and the whole rear shock setup and one side of the a arms, ima go to my grandparents this weeknd and sharpen the foot pegs up.

I thought about putting an empty spray paint can over the resevior for the shock but i didnt like the look that much
